일론 머스크의 항공우주 기업 스페이스X가 나스닥 상장 첫날 시가총액 6위에 올랐다. 머스크는 세계 최초로 조만장자(자산 1조달러 이상)가 됐다.

미국 CNN 등 외신은 12일(현지 시각) 상장한 스페이스X가 주당 161.11달러로 거래를 마쳤다고 보도했다. 스페이스X의 공모가는 135달러였는데 약 19.3% 주가가 오른 것이다.

스페이스X는 장중 176.52달러까지 오르기도 했다. 스페이스X 공모에는 3500억달러가 몰렸다. 기관 투자 주문액은 2500억달러, 개인 투자자 주문은 1000억달러였다.

종가 기준 스페이스X의 시가총액은 2조달러를 넘겼다. 엔비디아, 알파벳(구글 모기업), 애플, 마이크로소프트, 아마존에 이어 시총 6위에 올랐다.

스페이스X 상장으로 머스크의 총자산 규모는 1조달러를 넘어섰다. 외신들은 머스크의 자산 규모가 대만의 국내총생산(GDP·9767억달러)보다 많다고 보도했다.

머스크의 자산은 매일 2700만 달러(약 410억원)씩 100년을 써도 다 쓸 수 없는 규모다. 또한 세계 부호 순위 2위인 래리 페이지 구글 공동창업자 보다 머스크의 자산 규모가 3배 이상 많은 것으로 나타났다.
